On 13 February, 2020 the 2nd Round Table for Control Bodies “The Organic Law of Ukraine and its Requirements for Organic Control Bodies” has successfully taken place at the BIOFACH fair in Nuremberg.

The world of organic agriculture in Ukraine is bigger than this! A successful Round Table during BIOFACH 2020 was focusing on the latest development of the Ukrainian Organic Law, which has been enforced in August 2019 and is expected to be applied sometimes during this year. Once the bylaws will be completed, organic products sold in the Ukrainian market will have to be certified according to the national law. Respective CBs will have to be registered and accredited by the National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine (NAAU). CBs exclusively offering inspection and certification services for other organic regulations, such as EU or NOP, need to be separately registered by their clients but do not need to be accredited for the Ukrainian organic law. For more information, please look at the following presentations of the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine and the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection:
