On 12.01.2022 the first examinations for the future inspectors according to the Ukrainian Law on Organic Agriculture took place. 22 participants took part in the examination. All participants passed the exam. "This is another milestone on the way to the full implementation of the Ukrainian Organic Agriculture Law", says Dr Stefan Dreesmann, head of the project "German-Ukrainian Cooperation in Organic Agriculture". " We congratulate all those who contributed to it with this important step," Dr Dreesmann continued. Previously, COA had proposed a list of questions to the responsible Ministry of Economy (MinEcon) for the tests.

The testing of the future organic inspectors is an important precondition for the organic inspection bodies to submit their documents to the Ukrainian accreditation body.  After successful accreditation and approval of the organic inspection bodies, farms and processors who want to convert to organic farming can then obtain certification from these inspection bodies and obtain the Ukrainian Organic Logo for the products they produce. COA will continue its support to the implementation of the Organic Law of Ukraine as an important instrument for further development of the organic sector of Ukraine.
