The Project "German-Ukrainian Cooperation in Organic Agriculture" (COA) has supported the implementation of the IX International Scientific-Practical Conference "Organic Production and Food Safety", which was organized on May 27-28, 2021 by the Polissya National University (former Shytomyr National Agricultural University), the Ukrainian Organic Federation and the Regional Association "Polissya Organic" as an online event.
The main topics of the discussion at the conference were:
- problems and prospects for the further development of organic production;
- the role of organic production in food security;
- eco-technologies in agronomy;
- special aspects of the production of organic animal products;
- marketing of organic products;
- the role of the high education system in the specialists training for organic agriculture;
- processing organic waste and fertilizer production;
- bioenergy systems in agriculture production;
- organic beekeeping.
On behalf of the COA project, the conference participants were welcomed by the National Long-Term Expert Oleksandr Kaliberda.
As part of the conference, a competition for the best publications on organic production was held – with the support of the COA project. These were reviewed and determined by a commission of experts:
The 1st place went to the article "PROSPECTS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF ORGANIC PRODUCTION" from the team of authors: Liudmyla ROMANCHUK, Ph.D., Professor, Vitaliy KOVALEV, Ph.D., Professor and Inna MOZHARIVSKA, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Polissya National University.
The team of authors was pleased about the 2nd place for the article "SPECIFICS OF FINANCING OF ORGANIC PRODUCTION": Larysa NEDILSKA, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Iryna ABRAMOVA, Ph.D., Associate Professor and Natalia KUROVSKA, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Polissya National University.
The 3rd place for the article "ADVANTAGES OF USING ORGANIC PRODUCTS IN EVERYDAY LIFE" was taken by the team of authors: Maria KUCHERUK, Doctor, Professor, Professor, Anton SKOROKHODKO, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Professor, and Marina ZIMINA, Master candidate at the National University of Bioresources and Environmental Use of Ukraine.
The winners of the competition were awarded gifts and cash prizes.
