The Project "German-Ukrainian Cooperation in Organic Agriculture" (COA project) has supported an exhibition of organic products and technologies "ORGANIC-2020" as part of the exhibition "AGRO-2020", which was organized by the Organic Federation of Ukraine on 11-14 August 2020 in Kiev in the Exhibition Center of Ukraine (VDNG).
Within the framework of this exhibition, a conference "Organic: Knowledge, Experiences, Results" was also held with the support of the COA project. During the conference, the results achieved in the Ukrainian organic sector over the past year were summarized, trends in the development of the international organic market as well as the recent changes in Ukrainian legislation in this area were presented and new projects were announced.
In his greeting to the conference participants, the newly appointed Agricultural Attaché of the German Embassy in Kiev, Mr. Frank Mueller, stressed that thanks to the rapid growth of the market of organic food in Germany and throughout the EU, exports of organic products from Ukraine to the EU increased by 30% in 2019 and by as much as 50% to Germany.
At the conference, the COA project presented the newly created "Organic Knowledge Platform": https://organic-platform.org/, which was funded by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) 2020.
The "Organic Knowledge Platform" was established to bring together on one platform all the scientific, information and practical materials on the organic agriculture sector available in Ukraine and to make them accessible to the general public, scientists, teachers, students, practitioners and all representatives of the organic sector. The quality and actuality of the materials presented on the platform are evaluated by independent experts in this field.
