AFC’s project Cooperation in Organic Agriculture (COA) supported an online discussion platform held on April 16, within the framework of the V International «Congress Organic Ukraine 2021».

The discussion platform event was organized by the information centre `Green Dossier`, under the patronage of the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine.

More than 200 participants from state institutions, from organic enterprises and from international projects and organizations from Ukraine, Germany, and Belgium took part of the event. They discussed impacts and questions related to the implementation of the European Green Deal, the Farm to Fork Strategy as well as the EU Organic Production Action Plan.

COA’s new teamleader, Dr. Stefan Dreesmann, contributed with a statement regarding the beneficial conditions for organic agriculture in Ukraine, the significant demand for high quality production as well as the need for market developments within the country. He emphasized on the potential of the various measures for targeted state support for the sector as a driving force. A good mix of several means can help to increase the organically farmed area in the Ukraine in the future and, thus, add to value creation on site.
