On 17.02.2021, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted the Regulation on the Responsibilities of the re-established Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine (MAPE).
According to it, MAPE will be responsible for agriculture, horticulture and viticulture, food security, seed and plant breeding, animal husbandry, rural development, food and processing industry, among others. In addition, the State Agency for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre of Ukraine (Geocadastre Agency) and the State Agency for Fisheries will fall under the coordination of MAPE. The Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture (MDETA) will retain oversight of the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection of Ukraine (FSA) and for the regulation of organic farming.
