A successful specialist information tour by the “German-Ukrainian Agricultural Policy Dialogue (APD) in cooperation with the “German-Ukrainian Cooperation in Organic Agriculture (COA)” together with a Ukrainian delegation of experts took place in Brussels last week.

At the front-line — women in Ukraine are changing the world — a 90 minutes event on Wednesday 14 February 2024

The front line in Ukraine stretches for over 1,000 kilometres. There is fierce fighting everywhere. The fighting continues unabated even in winter. Not far away, organic farms are continuing to farm. bioPress was able to interview two of those directly affected.

Between February 13 - 16, 2024, the organic community will again meet in Nuremberg (Germany) at the World's Leading Trade Fair for Organic Food. Regional, national and international stakeholders from the entire organic value chain will gather here to network and consolidate their joint vision for a more sustainable future.

In December, the project "German-Ukrainian Cooperation in Organic Agriculture" presented a translation of the manual "Conversion Period. Converting a farm to organic agriculture" from the Polish Environmental Club in Krakow.

The international Green Week in Berlin, Germany, is one of the biggest agricultural trade fairs with 100,000s of visitors all over the world, held during 9 days in January. In addition, Green Week gives current social issues such as climate protection, circular economy, resource conservation and sustainable land use a stage.

Since August of this year, farms and companies in Ukraine have been able to obtain certification in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On Basic Principles and Requirements for Organic Production, Circulation and Labelling of Organic Products". The Ukrainian government has also developed its own logo for this purpose. All farms certified under this law are registered in a database maintained by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
